Nearby characters or objects that can give you quests, the destinations of quest, and places to turn in quests. They are marked with yellow symbols on your mini-map. These symbols can also be seen from the full map, but only if you zoom in on the map.
If you happen to see any nearby quest marker on the map, it is generally a good idea to do them while you are located in the area instead of leaving for a different area. You don’t even have to select the corresponding quest as your primary one; just go to the marker and see what progresses the quest.
Talking of going to quest markers, don’t just blindly follow the blue arrow made by your primary quest. Roaming the wild will often lead straight into impassable mountains (hordes of enemies as well) and it just wastes your time. Take to the road as much as possible and you will reach your destination much sooner and a lot safer.
Pets are small animals that go around with you and do little tricks. They don’t take part of combat or give stat bonuses, so they’re just for showing off.
You can use your gold to buy pets from a woman that is called Lilivia Vineviva that stands near the Greenmont auction house. Ubiquitous Nick can also sell unique pets but for rune stones. If you want to activate a pet, put it in your bag and choose use it.
Later in the game, rare and epic pets can be found as loot drops or captured in the wild.
