Order and Chaos Online coming to Facebook

So here is a surprise,

On the Gameloft podcast that was released just a few hours ago, it was announced that Order and Chaos Online will be coming soon to Facebook! To me this came as a total surprise, because I assumed the next information we would be getting about O&C would involve update news or Gamelofts plan to address some of the fixes players have been begging for. Having An O & C Facebook game definitely comes out of left field, but what is the effect to the existing Order and Chaos community?

Bringing Order and Chaos to Facebook is a fantastic way to ensure that our beloved game continues to grow and stay continually updated. In browser micro payment based MMORPGs are a huge market these days and Order and Chaos is moving more and more to a micro payment based MMO then ever before (debatable as to whether thats good for players). The natural question that arises is whether iOS, Android, and Facebook players will be able to play together in the same world (something android players are furiously waiting to be able to do with existing iOS players). Well moments ago this was clarified on the official forums by Gameloft employee Sand.

“Hi guys,
I see that the great news has already reached you – O&C is being launched on Facebook.
And of course it has aroused a ton of questions and concerns – I get it.
At the moment we can tell that this is a separate-platform game. This means that the FB players will have to start their chars anew.
Secondly, I truly understand your concern about how this may influence the iOS and Android players.
Guys please stay assured that iOSes and Androids have not dropped in the Devs’ list of priorities. They are working hard to give you the update as soon as possible, as well as to take care of your bugs and other issues.”

What do we think? Will the MUCH larger pool of Facebook players turn our beloved mobile experience into some second rate port that never gets updates?…or is having more Order and Chaos Online in the world only a good thing as it will keep Gamelofts interests in supporting the game peeked? good idea maybe you will have wow players switch to the facebook version of this and try something new!

Depends how close the facebook game is to the iOS and android. If it is the same, why would people pay a subscription when they can get it for free on facebook?

Anyone who is into WoW will never leave it for order and chaos…there is just so mich more on WoW. Blizzard does make a killing off the subscriptions, but they definately earn it… Countless bug fixes and balancing tweaks in every update and almost countless updates… I like both games… Order and chaos is definately my favorite casual mmo… Its nice to just sit and play for 5 minutes or 5 hours.. Whatever you feel like… But it is seriously lacking any sort of endgame…. I have 2 level 60s now and all there is to do is… … … Make another 60. Proffesion system impossible with the symbol system, there is no real pvp, there is no dungeons, there arent even level 60 items for some of the classes. They really have to stop worrying about making a million versions of the same ruined game and just make ONE good version first… Fix the glitches, like the arches floating in the air when you enter the desert… The archers who dont move at beach front… The rougue quest in the desert where it tells you to go to the wrong tent, and when you finish the quest the guy doesnt dissapear. (seriously 100s of the same character in the same space? How many months before they fix that and make the quest possible?) . i was so enthusiastic when this game came out… But its slowly dying, gameloft makes all these promises, but doesnt let us know whats going on, doesnt give us consistant updates, doesnt even have their own site for the game… I mean… Its just so lazy, i really hope they start paying attention to us gamers, letting us know whats going on, actually listening to our feedback, and doing something about all the small glitches we are all complaining about… Make some more end game items that are hard to find, let us know when the dungeon is comming out, make the bosses in the dungeons drop symbols so crafting is actually possible… Thats the forethought that sets world of warcraft ahead. And thats what gameloft is gonna have to do to keep this game alive… Quit grabbing for money with gear of shame and ian game bonuses until you have something people dont mind paying for… And thats my rant… …

  Just curious but what is your experience with wow? Have you played wow on your phone? It seems you have judged this game without even playing it mr “I have 2 level 60s”. There are dungeons and a decent pvp system. Also hands down this is the most advanced game on a mobile platform. Thanks for your lengthy review but many you shouldn’t bash so full heartedly about a game on a separate platform. Your defense of wow is warranted because it is a great game but this game isn’t even attempting to replace it.

I agree Skyye, I honestly don’t think I’ll pay for any more of this when my subscription runs out. Darn shame…

If they keep content fresh and offer DLC’s and remove the whole “Buy all the goodies up front” thing–it is a game that can last for the long haul as a mobile MMO

The game is great considering mobile MMORPG game.
But damn, MMORPG is about players community – and till now I don’t see that GameLoft doing much about it.
No normal place to communicate among the player (yes, I know that WoW exists for a long period and there is a lot of sites, wowwiki and etc..) but having only FAQ page well… kinda not serious.
Even in Google search the official game site is in about 10th or so position.
Bringing the game to FB… idk, it like from good mobile MMORPG become “yes, just another web browser game…”

Okay.. I just downloaded OOC for Android to my new Samsung Tablet 10.1 and when I logged into my account, wich i’ve been playing for some time now on my iphone and wifes ipad, it allows me in but my character is like non exsistant…. Any ideas or troubleshoot’s for this one????? Please say there is a fix or at least one coming

  they still haven’t merged ios and android platforms so it will be like you’re starting with all new characters =(
